Bloggers Give Back!

Help pay tribute to our favorite bloggeress Crunchy Chicken! Here's how:

1) Write a piece on your blog about what you personally have learned from La Crunch. If you don't have a blog, then please comment here on what Crunchy taught you.

2) Donate money or pads, in whatever amount feels right for you, to Goods 4 Girls.

3) Come back here and tell us how much you donated! Let's see if we can raise $5,000 for Crunchy's foundation. If you aren't comfortable publicly stating how much you donated, we understand. Just leave a comment indicating that you donated and then send an email to crunchytribute [at] gmail [dot] com with the specific amount.

We'll keep a tally of the money raised here, and then add your blog to the Crunchy Community sidebar.

4) Add the Tribute to an Original button to your site to honor this inspiring woman and inform others of the tribute.

Grab the code: <a href="http://acrunchytribute.blogspot.com/2008/05/bloggers-give-back.html"><img src= "https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCZT1n8wO3NJ0ZkALnPVd6Q3i2CQkcYGLhAn7pp8CzlK00xRYBHc68A_69SsK97HhoYTBx27lq_L6WshFtKuRzklVds95b8ecZmCPt_smbqEk4pYXRdJk2abz2M8S2ntzA04qVXJJidzA/s400/cctribute.jpg"/></a>

(In some browsers, the code scrolls off the screen but should copy and paste okay. You can double check if it is working by clicking on the preview button. If you cannot get the code to work for you, you can always follow this handy step-by-step tutorial of how to manually post a button on your sidebar or in a post by the one and only Chile!)

ETA: I'm being told Crunchy also needs waterproof bags if people would like to donate those as well!

Do we all have to speak of ourselves in the third person? Oh, we do? Um ok, then. Arduous throws $50 in the pot.

Fake Plastic Fish adds 4 Goods 4 Girls Lunapads Kits for a whopping total of $107.96.

The world is a better place because Crunchy Chicken is in it!

God Beth, now I have to do MATH. ;)

Wahoo, yeah Crunchy! Matt and I are not doing so well financially at the moment, so for the moment I'm donating one kit. Plus I'm donating my time and physical effort to help ship out the pads - something that will hopefully be very valuable!

Holy crap, people! What in tarnation is going on? You need to warn me a head of time so I can get up earlier! Just kidding...

Anyway, this is fantastical. What evil minds are at work behind this diabolical scheme? I must go sleuthing now.

Thanks!

Jam, if you're reading this, I for some reason can't access your blogger profile. Can you put the link to your blog in the comments so I can link to you in the Crunchy Community sidebar?

Thanks!!

Chile said...

I, oops I mean, Chile went for the local option with local drop-off, scoring 5 pads for the great price of $21.

Thanks for doing all the work tracking this!

Chile said...

Thanks for the explanation, JAM. I clicked through to your blog from my sidebar the other day and was surprised to see it gone. You don't have to blog to play. Look at all the trouble DC manages to get into with a blog...

Green Bean said...

Jam, I second Chile's comment. Of course, you don't have to blog to play. We just like you to stick around in whatever capacity works for you. It always bums me out when someone disappears with no explanation and thinks they would not be missed. They always are (missed that is). So glad you are sticking around. :)

Donated one lunapad kit.

Donated $100 USD - that's about what I've saved by using the Diva Cup this past year. I'm in the middle of my tribute post and it will be up on my blog later today...

Thanks for organizing this tribute and fund raiser!

I have organized a sewing bee for the 21st to sew pads for this project - I'll let you know how we do on the 22nd.

Green Bean said...

Just wanted to say that all of you guys rock!

And ArtByStrongHeart, talk about taking the community-building to another level, inspirational!

Crunchy Tribute said...

Not yet 3pm and we're already up to$984.93!! Awesome! Theresa, great idea to figure out what you would have spent on tampons and donate that amount. Cool!!

And crstn85 takes us over the top. $1034.93 people!

I put in $25. Thanks Crunchy for all you do!

Crunchy Tribute said...

$1059.93! Not bad, folks!

Crunchy Chicken said...

Oh man, what will I have to shave if you guys reach $5,000?

ruchi said...

I believe the correct question is: what will you have to WAX?

Crunchy Chicken said...

Ahhhh. That is a more fitting question given today's post. Perhaps I should host a poll?

hmd said...

Sorry it took me so long. My tribute is finally up. Being without my laptop all week has put me behind....

If I HAD a nickel to my name, I'd give it to La Crunch, in a heartbeat. Alas, I'm deeply into negative nickels right now (yes, we just bought a new walking tractor- but that was a replacement, with flood relief money given by our neighbors).

I really like this group of people here. Good stuff. :-)

Jen said...

I'll add in another $100.

I should post a tribute but I'm too lazy. I will say Crunchy Chicken's challenges started me on this wacky path way back last year and I am eternally grateful!

Michelle said...

I pitched in $50 bucks to the cause this morning. I know it's not much, but I hope it brings Crunchy closer to her goal!

Donated 2 lunapad kits. Thanks Crunchy for all your posts, your book club, your crazy challenges (most of which are too crazy for me) and for doing something in response to an ad that was bothering me big time.

Burbanmom said...

Hahahaha! Yeah, doing the math on this sucks. That's why I went back and donated $32.89. Just to be an arse. ;-)

Just donated a Lunapads kit (26.99 Cdn). By the way, I'm not a blogger myself but a regular reader of all your guys' blogs (and Crunchy Chicken is awesome - so glad she's not slowing down). Thanks for all you do - all your blogs inspire and amuse me.

Crunchy and Green Beans - many thanks to you both!

I (oops - Bugs and Brooms) is so new to blogging that she has no idea how to really contribute. She doesn't even know how to add pictures to her posts yet! So much to learn... B&B is in for something but will have to figure out what - probably pads for G4G. Crunchy introduced B&B to the Diva Cup along with lots of other great stuff! B&B thinks Crunchy rocks and will add the banner to her site (though it may take hours to get it to actually work)!

Green Bean said...

Gillian: Yeah!!!

Bugs: Your post cracked me up. It still takes me hours sometimes to get a button or something to work right. Try going to layout, then add a new element on sidebar and then to TEXT. If you copy the code (in some browsers it runs off the page so make sure the code ends with .jpg), then paste it and then do a preview or switch fro HTML to Rich Text, you should see whether the code works. Hopefully it does. Thanks for donating! and for blogging!

Green Bean said...

I donated $80.97 through pads from Lunapads. Go Crunch!

Anonymous said...

73 pads are sewn, the Velcro will be added next Saturday and the box sent the first part of next week.

ruchi said...

We're up to $1758.93!

ruchi said...

I added in another Lunapad kit!

Burbanmom said...

Donated another $50 today... and hopefully will start sewing some pads soon!!!

ruchi said...

And we're at $1835.92! Yay!!

lauren said...

I used a $5 off coupon from Lunapads from the last donation I made to buy one more kit. So add another $30 to to the total.

Anonymous said...

I FINALLY got my order placed at Lunapads for 1 kit! Nothing like waiting until the very last minute (had to wait for pay day)! So, add $29.99 to the total!

Thanks for putting this together Green Bean!!

ruchi said...

When I first hit Crunchy's blog about a month ago, I became aware of Goods4Girls. I gave $100 in Crunchy's honor. She is an inspiration.
